Prof Nicolas Voelcker - nominee for South Australian Scientist of the Year

Professor Nicolas Voelcker (Deputy Director, Mawson Institute, University of South Australia) has been named as a finalist for the 2015 South Australian Science Excellence Awards. He is one of four nominees for South Australian Scientist of the Year.

Prof Voelcker has had a strong association with AIB Labs. While at Flinders University he was chairman of the management committee for the AIB Labs facility Flinders Analytical. He has also been a longstanding member of the AIB Labs Steering Committee.

The Science Excellence Awards is South Australia’s premier event to acknowledge and reward outstanding scientific endeavour, including its application in industry and the advancement of science and mathematics education. Since the introduction of the awards in 2005, the Government of South Australia has recognised the efforts and achievements of more than 60 winners, many of whom are world leaders in their respective fields.

Winners of the 2015 SA Science Excellence Awards will be announced on Thursday, 13 August 2015.
